Charles: Q1. What does L1+L2 trust layer mean on crosschain, and what is it mean for?

AMY:

Layer 1 of CrossFi refers to a cross-chain protocol, and includes storage for digital communication and consensus mechanism

It provides synchronization of block data from all nodes which enable transactions faster, and builds its own data protocol on the second layer to realize cross-chain asset issuance and DeFi

Q2. What is the importance of the Multi-asset Adaptor Protocol(MAP) to CrossFi and how will it be used to bridge the value transmission of major public chain assets?

AMY:

Thank you for your question!

Our Multi-Asset Adaptor Protocol (MAP) is a cross-chain protocol that can map digital assets from one blockchain network to another. It’s sort of like an automatic money changer where I can send USD and receive EUROs

MAP will map the pledged FIL to the newly minted cFIL so they are essentially mirrors of the same asset on different chains. Now, cFIL can be used on the Ethereum and BSC blockchain in any DeFi application. cFIL is then burned when it is redeemed

CrossFi is what I consider the next wave of decentralized finance because it is an interoperability solution that will enable different blockchain assets to interact with one another

We have what we call our multi-asset adaptor (MAP) which allows for the creation of synthetic assts, which mirror the assets of the native chain, and these can be traded on any other blockchain, such as Ethereum for DeFi

Q3. Currently there’re many hack or scam cases in the crypto world. Could you please tell me what security mechanisms does CrossFi apply to keep the privacy and security of your users’ assets? How do you manage if there is an attack on your platform to protect your users’ benefits?

AMY:

Yes, Security is always our top priority!

The CrossFi team places great importance on the security of platform properties and always puts security at the forefront of development. Since its launch on June 17, the project platform is fully decentralized and open-source, so everyone can check the code on Github

CrossFi has a dual system protection system. 

1. The frontend, the backend, the database, and the physical separation between the three 

2. Two-way encryption of communication, information verification and examination mechanism.

Internally we follow professional development, quality assurance and peer review cycles. Every launch is preceded by 2 rounds of audit by paid external parties with a solid track audit track record

Q4. Can you tell us about your loan system in CrossFi? In PoS model, most assets are locked up, preventing them from being utilized, how will CrossFi bring liquidity to locked assets?  Will you be expanding to other assets in various networks or just Filecoin?

AMY:

The CrossFi DeFi App has just been updated with the much sought after functionality for borrowing. sFIL is Filecoin synthetic asset that acts as a certificate created by miners’ mortgaged storage power. Borrowers pledge the storage power of the node, and sFIL is generated according to the pledged amount. These loan profits are given to users once a month through events(CSO)

We believe that the CrossFi product is important because the crypto-industry is moving towards a proof of stake (PoS) model where more assets are locked up. While this is good for asset values as it keeps assets locked up so they cannot be dumped, it also prevents these assets from being utilize, such as participating in DeFi, because the staking periods are usually quite long. As such, we hope to unlock the value of all PoS tokens as we will do with our first project with Filecoin (FIL)

Currently, we are focusing on Filecoin DeFi using cross-chain technology, and we plan to support various chains in the future. By linking different networks such as File Coin as well as Polkadot to different assets using interoperability technology, it is possible to expand the liquidity of assets in other networks through Cross DeFi

Q5. On your Roadmap Q3 2021, you plan to launch a Crossfi Swap Opportunity(CSO) plan. So can you tell us more about CSO? What will be the essential use of Crossfi Swap Opportunity plan in your platform? How it will works and be implemented in Crossfi network?

AMY:

CrossFi token (CRFI) holders be able to swap their tokens for cFIL (1:1 pegged synthetic Filecoin) in a special event. This Swap & Burn event has a high likelihood of pumping the price of CRFI tokens giving holders a great opportunity for big profits

CSO has been added to the CrossFi DApp as a permanent feature update and more CSOs will keep happening every month. There are two two pool types available — Limited Exchange and Unlimited Exchange, and users can participate in both at the same time. Please note that only the BSC (Binance Smart Chain) network mode on these wallets is valid for the CSO

Q6. In recent years, technologies around the layer 2 blockchain, solutions have developed dramatically. How does “CrossFi ” fit into the boom of layer 2 networks? What makes it CrossFi and different from all other platforms of this type? using L1 and L2?

AMY

Yes, we are a Layer 2 solution. Only certain onchain transactions are executed directly on ethereum Layer 1

I think you can view CrossFi as enabling the creation of all kinds of synthetic assets across different blockchains

CrossFi is a decentralized cross-chain liquidity sharing protocol of ERC-20 and BSC. It aims to integrate the distinct advantages of a variety of basic public chains to create a high-performance compound DEX ecosystem

Our main product will be for collateralizing Filecoin so it can be used in the DeFi ecosystem. This is how it works – FIL holders can pledge FIL to the CrossFi platform and then mint cFIL which is compatible with Ethereum and BSC. They only need to send cFIL back to the redemption contract and pay a settlement fee to receive their FIL back.

Q7. I understand that Filecoin is the first project of CrossFi but I am yet to understand the issues of Filecoin that CrossFi is trying to solve. Can you please explain the issues of Filecoin that CrossFi is solving? Also, will CrossFi be focusing on Filecoin alone OR are there already considerations to focus and support other coins?

AMY:

CrossFi is what we call an interoperability solution because it bridges different blockchains. CrossFi was made for anyone who wants to participate in DeFi but does not have their assets on Ethereum or one of the other major DeFi blockchains

Filecoin is our first project because it has several issues which make it suitable for such a liquidity solution. Firstly, a certain amount of FIL must be staked to provide storage space so there will naturally be an imbalance of storage space providers and FIL holders. There may be FIL holders who do not own the expensive FIL mining machines but who will want to lend out their FIL to mining machine owners, who may have too much storage and not enough FIL to stake, so they can both benefit and share in the stake rewards. Along with FIL’s relatively long staking period, it is in desperate need of liquidity

So our initial solution is to provide a platform to deal with this imbalance of storage capacity and available FIL to stake. The other problem with FIL is the staking period. It’s extremely long, 540 days 

Anyone in crypto knows that 540 days is FOREVER in crypto

So our technology will enable those who stake their FIL with us to collateralize this FIL and utilize it in the existing DeFi ecosystem

CrossFi solves the liquidity needs of heterogeneous networks. In the future, the liquidity and financial needs of NFT assets located in different native networks can be met through CrossFi. At the same time, the digital circulation of real securities and debt assets can also be realized

CrossFi has a few distinct benefits that would distinguish us from other FIL lending platforms.In terms of technology, our multi-asset adaptor protocol (MAP) enables us to mint synthetic versions of FIL on any blockchain. While Ethereum is the leading blockchain for DeFi now, PancakeSwap/Binance Smart Chain have recently been surpassing it in transactions

Synthetic assets have many benefits that enable investors to obtain exposure to assets without owning them directly, they are a form of derivative. Essentially, our MAP technology allows our users to mint synthetic versions of their assets on any other blockchain

In terms of FIL, users can stake their FIL through CrossFi and with our technology, we can allow them to collateralize their staked FIL so they can continue to obtain staking rewards as well as utilize the value of their staked FIL by simply paying interest
